Prerequisite Courses
We accept students from all undergraduate majors. To ensure student success, the program has transitioned to a new model that replaces multiple prerequisite courses with a single integrated foundations course.
Beginning in Summer 2026, the MSOM program adopts a new format to include a foundations course in lieu of the former prerequisites. All students will instead take OMGT 50203: OM Foundations, a graduate-level course designed to provide a strong baseline in decision support tools and other essential concepts. A grade of "B" or better is needed to satisfy the requirement.
Students starting in Fall 2025 or later also have the option to waive the OM Foundations course by passing a free proficiency exam. Students may attempt it once, and a score of 70% or higher will exempt them from OMGT 50203.
If you have questions about prerequisite requirements, proficiency exams, or the updated program structure, please contact MSOM advising at msom@uark.edu.
