Alfonso joined Walmart in 2008, and currently serves as Director of Global Supply Chain Development. In this role, he is responsible for Wal-Mart’s Global Sourcing Supply Chain development supporting the US and International Markets including Mexico, Chile, Central America, Canada, and India.  Also, Alfonso is responsible for the global logistics operations for the import dry packaged food and consumables. Previous to that, Alfonso served in various positions in Global Logistics, Merchandising, Private Brands, and Finance.

Prior to joining Walmart, he held various Corporate Finance positions with Verizon Communications. In all, Alfonso has more than 26 years of experience in Supply Chain, Merchandising and Finance.  Alfonso is president of the University of Arkansas MSOM Alumni Society Board of Directors, and he was instrumental in establishing the MSOM Alumni Society, which was formed in spring of 2015. 

Alfonso volunteers his time regularly to maintain the society and its events.  He is continuously looking for new ways to engage MSOM alumni and grow the society.  He lives in Rogers, Arkansas with his wife Joan.  Alfonso enjoys playing tennis as well as reading and travel.
