Operations Management students can earn a Project Management Graduate Certificate while earning their Graduate Degree.

Program Overview

Project managers are responsible for the planning, organization and oversight of projects. Advance your career by learning to effectively execute projects and meet your organization’s strategic objectives. This certificate validates your knowledge and application of skills and tools needed to be an effective project manager.

The Project Management Institute (PMI) estimates that employers will need to fill 2.2 million project-oriented careers annually through 2027. Coursework in this certificate program follows the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) that helps you prepare to become certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).

The Project Management certificate is a twelve hour program consisting of three required courses and one elective. Students earning their MSOM degree have the option of earning the certificate at the same time.

Yes! These are considered graduate classes and you will receive graduate level credit for the courses you take toward the certificate.

Beginning Fall 2017, courses taken toward the MSOM Degree can be used toward the PM Certificate if the courses are completed prior to graduating with the MSOM degree. Only courses completed within six years of certificate completion will count toward the certificate.

To be admitted, you must have a conferred bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 60 graded credit hours. You must also have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, OR a 2.5 or better GPA in the last 60 credit hours. The GRE is not required for admission to the PM Certificate.

The fee for application is $30 if you are currently, or previously, enrolled as a graduate student. Otherwise, the fee is $60.
