Program Overview

Earn a Graduate Certificate in Lean Six Sigma, which incorporates the industry production methodology recognized by employers around the globe. Lean Six Sigma is a data-based method for removing waste and reducing variation to maximize business productivity.

The Lean Six Sigma certificate is a twelve hour program consisting of four courses. Students earning their MSOM degree have the option of earning the certificate at the same time, potentially with no extra credit hours necessary.

This program is designed around the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC) body of knowledge and prepares you to sit for the Green Belt certification exam.

Lean Six Sigma practitioners are critical to streamlining business operations to maximize productivity and minimize defects. This certificate demonstrates your ability to pragmatically use the statistical tools associated with Lean Six Sigma to develop new business solutions.

Yes! These are considered graduate classes and you will receive graduate level credit for the courses you take toward the certificate.

Courses taken toward the MSOM Degree can be used toward the PM Certificate if the courses are completed prior to graduating with the MSOM degree. Only courses completed within six years of certificate completion will count toward the certificate.

To be admitted, you must have a conferred bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 60 graded credit hours. You must also have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, OR a 2.5 or better GPA in the last 60 credit hours. The GRE is not required for admission to the PM Certificate.

The fee for application is $30 if you are currently, or previously, enrolled as a graduate student. Otherwise, the fee is $60.
